What is Raindrop Technique?
It combines aromatherapy, massage, and VitaFlex, and the recipient should be prepared for a Zen-like experience. A Raindrop Technique session is gentle and non-invasive. It involves the application of Young Living therapeutic grade essential oils (YLEO) along the feet and the spine, then working these oils into the skin with feather-like movements up the back, light massage and VitaFlex of the back, feet, and head.
Similar to reflexology and acupressure, VitaFlex uses the reflex system of the internal body controls to release tension and congestion, increase circulation, and strengthen the immune system. Recipients report deep mind/body relaxation, improvement in overall well-being, and increased mobility, especially of the neck and spine.
This is a dynamic combination of complementary techniques with may be customized to the client's individual needs using specific essential oils and targeting those needs. Many report feeling as though they've just received and hour and a half deep tissue massage without the 'after-burn' of a deep tissue massage.
How a Raindrop is Performed
Raindrop Technique is an exciting new way of managing pain and stress, which can be performed on both people and animals. In addition to being powerful as a technique in its own right, the various elements of Raindrop Technique can be used to complement most other body work, including massage (all forms), acupuncture, reflexology, Bowen technique, shiatsu, chiropractic, and physiotherapy. It is recommended that when Raindrop is received, no other body work be experienced the same day.
Raindrop Technique derives its name from the art of dripping unadulterated, therapeutic-grade essential oils onto the body from a height of six inches (like rain), so that the oils interact the Human Energy Field (HEF) as well as with the physical body. The foundation of Raindrop was inspired by the Native American belief that rain falling from a height, mixed with the electrical energy from the aurora borealis, may help purify and cleanse the bodies and spirits of the tribe's sick and elderly. Because Young Living essential oils are electrical in nature, they work with the electrical frequencies of our bodies and can easily penetrate skin and muscle, as well as the blood-brain barrier. The technique works well on very deep levels of the body without requiring hard pressure or force.
Raindrop Technique was developed by essential oils researcher and founder of Young Living, D. Gary Young due to research showing that many forms of spinal misalignment are caused by muscle spasms and inflammation-producing bacteria and viruses that reside along the spine.
The Steps of Raindrop Technique:
Raindrop Technique is generally conducted in silence. Undistracted by sound and talking, the recipient is able to sink into a deep state of relaxation and self-connection. In this receptive state, inner "shifts" may more easily take place.
There are several steps to a Raindrop Technique session. The first step is very simple, and is an Energy Balancing step. The Young Living Essential Oils blend of Valor is applied on the feet, and the feet are held. This step may take 5 to 6 minutes. Valor helps to balance the electrical energies in the body and the human energy field (HEF), promoting a deep state of relaxation.
Raindrop Technique then uses Vitaflex Technique, the Ancient Tibetan form of reflexology, in conjunction with various Young Living essential oils. Vitaflex technique originated in Tibet thousands of years ago, long before acupuncture was developed. It is also different from reflexology.
Unlike reflexology, Vitaflex Technique is designed to send an electrical pulse along the nerve pathways of the body. This pulse reaches areas of the body where there is a break in the electrical circuitry caused by toxins, damaged tissues, or loss of oxygen.
Vitaflex Technique involves a distinctive movement of the hands and fingers, and sends the recipient into an even deeper state of relaxation as the essential oils combine with the electrical pulses accessing neural pathways, to uplift the body and mind, and release tension, congestion, and imbalance.
The third step of Raindrop Technique is where it derives its name. The recipient is positioned face down, and essential oils are dropped onto the back and spine from a height of approximately six inches (15cm). This means that the oils are interacting with the body's energy field (it EMF field) even before they contact the physical body, producing an intensified effect. The oils are then applied to the back using a variety of light feathering techniques and Vitaflex applications.
Why Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils?
The Young Living essential oils used most commonly in the technique are Oregano, Thyme, Basil, Cypress, Wintergreen, Marjoram, and Peppermint, and the blends Valor and Aroma Siez. However, other oils may be added or substituted as appropriate and/or needed, including oils for specific client health challenges and supporting emotional balance.
Because of the importance of using only the highest quality essential oils and the correct chemotypes, Raindrop Technique is taught and performed with Young Living essential oils. Please do not attempt Raindrop Technique without appropriate training, or with any other brand of essential oils.
How Often?
Detoxing and putting the body back into balance with one Raindrop per week for 4 weeks is recommended for everyone. For serious health considerations, one Raindrop per week for 6-8 weeks is recommended. About once per month after that for 'maintenance' is appropriate, or anytime the immune system has been compromised.
